About
CHRISTY O is a choreographer known for innovative work with dance, lighting and video installation. Her work can be characterized by experimentation, refined simplicity and spontaneous methods of design and direction.
CHRISTY O received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance, Somatics and the Alexander Technique from University of Colorado at Boulder. She served as adjunct faculty in the Movement Studies department at Naropa University and CU-Boulder from 1998-2008 until relocating to Kauai, Hawaii. She is a dedicated student of Rinzai Zen meditation and Yang style Tai Chi. In 2016, she completed a 200 hour yoga certification and teaches a released style flowing yoga sequence with emphasis on alignment and breath. She maintains a private practice teaching Alexander Technique in Honolulu, HI and teaches weekly group classes at THE STUDIO TREEHOUSE.
